The nominees for the third Crunchyroll Anime Awards are out. Fans can vote for their favorites from 15 different categories on their website starting today.
“2018 was one of the industry’s biggest years yet, with a host of amazing adaptations, awe-inspiring original series, and absolute cinematic triumphs that inspired fans from all walks of life. And now it’s time to celebrate the best of the best!”
In this year, the third year of the awards, Crunchyroll introduced four new categories to choose from: Best Performance by a Voice Actor — both in Japanese and English, Best Character Design, Best Director, and Best Fight Scene.
The anime up for the most nominations this year is Megalobox, taking eight out of the 15 spots including Anime of the Year, Best Animation, and Best Ending Sequence. My Hero Academia is up for Best Animation and Best Boy. The anime saw eight nominations during last year’s Anime Awards.
Other categories include Best Antagonist, Best Continuing Series Presented by VRV, and Best Opening Sequence. A few of the other anime up for nominations this year are Attack on Titan Season 3, Dragon Ball Super, One Piece, and JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind.
Voting is open for one week at Crunchyroll’s Anime Awards section. Any fan who votes in every category using their Crunchyroll account will be entered to win a one-year subscription for Crunchyroll Premium. This year’s panel of 21 judges took part in deciding the final 15 categories included for this year’s nominees.

Crunchyroll’s third Anime Awards will be live in San Francisco February 16th and streamed on Twitch for those who can’t make the event. Voting ends on January 18th at 11:59 PM PT.
