A fresh entry into the brawler/slasher genre, Cubers: Arena will pit players against ball-shaped gladiators as they battle to reclaim their freedom. From solo developer Tomasz Dziobek and publisher Teyon, this twin-stick slasher/arena brawler mashes cartoonish animation and murderous balls of mayhem.
It’s been a few months ever since the official trailer was released for the upcoming indie action title. Inside Cubers: Arena, the player will wield a sword-and-shield combination of weapons. The various balls of warriors will range in size and weaponry, as you will also get the chance to equip special gear as well. As more combos land and fallen bosses crumble and bleed at your feet, you’ll receive awards and coins that can be used to upgrade skills, weapons, and gear.
Now, the official release date for Cubers: Arena has been announced. The news comes with a Launch Gameplay trailer that further showcases the game’s twin-stick mechanics for combat throughout the four distinctive maps. Each arena features spilled blood from the hordes of foes that inhabit the land you fight upon, using a parade of compelling swords and skillsets.
Their Steam page also informs that Cubers: Arena will feature a “dynamic 360 combat experience”, for a more immersive adventure to give the player a special control of shifting perspectives. Through the campaign, both you and a friend can team up to take down the game’s biggest bosses and swarms as you continue to fight for your freedom. Playing as an enslaved gladiator uniquely named Baller, only you and your determination to be away from this madness can get you out of the bloody cages of the arena.
Cubers: Arena will be available for all major platforms on Tuesday, July 28, for the Xbox One, PS4, and PC on Steam. The Nintendo Switch version will be released two days later on Thursday, July 30.
