Cuphead: Delicious Last Course DLC just got an update on what we can expect from the team at Studio MDHR and when the new content will drop.
Initially, the DLC was supposed to release sometime in 2019 but had to be pushed back to 2020. Studio MDHR co-directors Chad and Jared Moldenhauer explained the team’s decision in a statement:
“Hello old friends and new!
Our highest priority with ‘The Delicious Last Course’ is making sure this new adventure meets the meticulous level of care and quality we always strive for. It’s also important to us that we make things in a way that’s healthy and sustainable for our team. With that in mind, we’ll be moving the release for all platforms to 2020.”
So, Cuphead: Delicious Last Course will be available in 2020. This decision, as the team said, wasn’t an easy one to make as Cuphead first released back in 2017. It has been some time since players were able to play on Inkwell Isle with fresh content. It won’t be much longer until they can return with new items, new abilities, and a new character all to fight the big baddies in the new Isle. The new area, which doesn’t have a name to it just yet, is said to be filled with screen-filling bosses, new weapons, and new charms to make your way through the Isle.
The new character though is one that is very familiar to the players of the original Cuphead back from 2017. Ms. Chalice will be playable alongside Cuphead and Mugman. Previously, Ms. Chalice was a ghost that helped you along your travels. She was trapped at Mausoleums scattered throughout the Inkwell Isles. Now she is Ms. Chalice. The living version of the Legendary Chalice. Ms. Chalice will have a unique play style as well as crazy new abilities each her own. One of these new abilities includes a double jump. This will make the experience for the new DLC nothing like what you’ve played with before in Cuphead.
