As of today, CD Projekt RED has just released the first episode in its new Cyberpunk 2077 Night City Wire series. In the first twenty-five minute episode, we got to see a brand new gameplay trailer that showed off various parts of the first quests in Cyberpunk 2077‘s prologue. Later on, the devs explained everything we saw in the trailer with one highlight being what they revealed about the seventh district called The Badlands.
The devs explained that The Badlands is an area in Cyberpunk 2077 that is located outside the city walls and is pretty much a desolate wasteland. They also unveiled a new faction called the nomads who apparently roam The Badlands in large convoys made out of old cars and motorcycles. Furthermore, we also learned players will get to travel this vast wasteland via vehicles and access large open-world content revolving around The Badlands. Later, the CD Projekt Red devs divulged that players will also get several opportunities to interact with and learn about the Nomads faction.
Then a new Cyberpunk 2077 Anime was announced in Night City Wire dubbed Cyberpunk Edgerunners that is being spearheaded by the acclaimed Studio Trigger. Cyberpunk Edgerunners is going to tell a standalone story that will span the course of 10 episodes. The plot revolves around a street kid trying to survive in a High tech, Low life dystopian future. Faced with nothing to lose, the main character in Cyberpunk Edgerunners makes the bold decision to become an edge runner (a mercenary outlaw also known as a cyberpunk). The exciting series is planned to premiere sometime in 2022 with more details coming soon.
After Cyberpunk Edgerunners was announced in the first episode of Night city wire, we saw firsthand an in-depth analysis of an exciting new gameplay mechanic called Braindance. Braindance is a feature that will play a large part in the course in the game by allowing players to see through the eyes of the countless NPCs in the game and hear their stories. As showcased and explained by devs in Cyberpunk 2077 Night City Wire Braindance is a modification/device that will allow players to relive an NPC’s past memory and experience everything they felt during their memory.
In the Trailer, we saw the main character V experiencing the last moments of a Thug robbing a convenience store. We also saw how exactly brain dance functions in-game and how players will be able to fast forward, rewind, and scan various elements to learn key details.
