Daisy Edgar-Jones has landed a role in Twisters, the newest installment of the Twister IP. The follow-up to the 1996 classic will be directed by Lee Isaac Chung (Minari) and penned by Mark L. Smith (The Revenant). The new film is called a “new chapter” rather than it being a sequel, largely due to it not bringing back characters from the 1996 film.
The plot details are mostly kept under wraps. The hint we get is from details on the role of Daisy Edgar-Jones in Twisters. She plays an ex-storm chaser who survives a tornado disaster and is stuck on a desk job. Due to circumstances, she gets put back out there to chase a new storm.
The film is produced by Frank Marshall. He is married to Lucasfilm leader Kathleen Kennedy, who produced the 1996 film.
