After starring in three of the biggest movies of the last decade, Daisy Ridley is stepping away from the big budgets and green screens of Disney’s Star Wars movies for something a little more intimate and a little more real. According to a report from Deadline, Daisy Ridley is set to both produce and star in the upcoming indie drama, Sometimes I Think About Dying. The project is being directed by Rachel Lambert with a script written by Kevin Armento, Stefanie Abel Horowitz, and Katy Wright-Mead. Other members of the cast currently include Dave Merheje, Meg Stalter, Bree Elrod, Brittany O’Grady, and Parvesh Cheena.
Sometimes I Think About Dying is based on the play, Killers, written by Kevin Armento, who also had a role in the movie’s script. It is also based on a shorter version of the film. The story is set to follow a woman named Fran, who — as the title implies — sometimes thinks about death. However, Fran soon becomes involved in a romance with a new guy at work.
Joining Daisy Ridley as producers on Sometimes I Think About Dying are Alex Saks, Dori Rath, Lauren Beveridge, and Brett Beveridge. Co-producers on the project include Mariela Villa, Steven Weisman, and Kyle Eaton.
However, Sometimes I Think About Dying is not the only upcoming project for Daisy Ridley. Audiences will next see Ridley as the star of Neil Burger’s movie, The Marsh King’s Daughter, which is an adaptation of a novel by the same name. Ridley is also involved in developing projects like Mathieu Kassovitz’s thriller, Mind Fall, as well as a Disney+ movie about the first woman to swim on the English channel titled Young Woman and the Sea.
