Supergirl’s gone through a number of costumes throughout her tenure with DC Comics. From having a skirt with a visible mid-drift to full battle armor, she’s no stranger to an outfit makeover. Tim King’s eight-issue miniseries Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow saw Kara traverse the cosmos on a journey of self-discovery. By the end of the series, Supergirl wore a sleek and stylish costume. Dark Crisis #1 confirms that the from King’s miniseries is the same one she’ll be wearing for the foreseeable future, at least while she is a member of Jonathan Kent’s new Justice League.
Who Joins Supergirl In The New Justice League?
The Justice League is dead. Villains across the world take advantage and launch attacks in their absence. However, someone steps up to fill the boots of the missing heroes. Jonathan Kent, Clark Kent and Lois Lane’s son, takes it upon himself to form a new Justice League to combat the ongoing attacks and looming darkness. After prominent powerhouses like Black Adam turn him down, Jon Kent puts together a misfit crew of legacy heroes.
Rounding out the team with Kara and Jon are Aqualad, Robin, two Blue Beetles, Dr. Light, Killer Frost, Harley Quinn, Frankenstein, and Booster Gold. Dark Crisis #1 teases their first mission in the finale as Deathstroke leads an assault on Titans Tower with a host of villains. Without the likes of Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, and Aquaman to look to, this younger generation will have to step up in a big way. Not just with the opportunistic villains, but with Pariah, too.
Dark Crisis, in comic book shops now, comes from the mind of writer Joshua Williamson and is illustrated by Daniel Sampere. Additionally, the variant cover art, created by Greg Capullo, Jonathan Glapion, Dave McCaig, Jim Lee, and more, is currently available.
