Ray Park is an incredible stunt actor who is best known for his work as Darth Maul in the Star Wars franchise. Park has played other big roles such as Snake Eyes in the G.I. Joe series and Toad in X-Men.
Beat Saber is a rhythm-based VR game where the goal is to hit blocks (or beats) with your lightsaber, which will perfectly fit into precisely handcrafted music. Well, what if I were to tell you that Ray Park tried this game out for himself over the weekend and it went…exactly how you would expect. You can see his first attempt at Beat Saber down below:
In the post, Park said:
“Here ya go! Some of you have asked. First time on Beat Saber and couldnāt resist a bit of a boogie!”
I’ve seen this floating around the internet and felt it had to be said here. There’s something special about Park’s Darth Maul. The character was practically the main villain in Star Wars Episode 1: The Phantom Menace but he didn’t have much to work with in regards to his character’s depth or total screentime. Still, Maul remains as one of the highlights of the Star Wars prequels and one of the best villains the series has ever introduced.
(Spoilers for a 20-year-old movie and Solo: A Star Wars Story ahead)
His character was sliced in half by Obi-Wan Kenobi at the end ofĀ Phantom Menace and that was the last we saw of him for quite some time. He eventually popped back up in Solo: A Star Wars Story with new robotic legs so there’s a chance we see Ray Park back in the role of Darth Maul once again in future Star Wars films.
Have you played Beat Saber? Would you like to see Darth Maul return to the Star Wars universe in the future? Let us know in the comments below!
