It was just a few months ago when Dauntless developer Phoenix Labs introduced a new update to the game. Named Call of the Void, the update brought much new content to the game that focused on the Umbral Element. The new skins look great, the monsters are fun to fight, and the new Training Grounds are a great way to test out new weapons. Now that its September though, the team is ready with a new update. Dauntless’ Untamed Wilds update is now available, along with a new trailer which you can find below.
What’s in Dauntless’ Latest Update?
Similar to Call of the Void, Dauntless’ Untamed Wilds update brings another new Escalation event. This Escalation is the Terra Escalation, bringing players to a new island called the Arbourhome. This island was once chained to the home of the Farslayer Tribe, but those times have passed. Now it’s inhabited by Sporestruck Behemoths, all hungering to take you down. Expect many of your classic behemoths imbued with the new Sporestruck form, culminating in a battle with Agarus. This new fungal behemoth brings poison and vine-like limbs to its advantage, proving to be a new and exciting challenge for new and veteran players.
Those who brave these intense fights and live can enjoy a new set of weapons for Dauntless, known as the Agarus weapons. These are powerful weapons that have the special ability to revive nearby allies in a large radius. They also give stagger immunity and healing over time, rounding out some powerfully useful weapons. Each weapon has two Prismatic Cell slots, allowing for some nice customization.
The final addition comes in the form of Missions, a new type of adventure for Dauntless players. These bring story, combat, and exploration together to provide an enjoyable experience for players, as well as give a deeper look into the game’s backstory. For lore hunters like me, this is a dream come true. These missions grant access to two of the Sporestruck behemoths, which makes it the only way to find them outside of the Terra Escalation.
Overall, this update looks to provide some new and fresh content to the game. It’s good the team is remaining consistent with updates, as more content consistently is never a bad thing. Dauntless is available on PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch for free. What do you think of Dauntless’ Untamed Wilds update? Will you be hopping on to try it?
