John Aniston, who starred on Days of our Lives for over 52 years, has died at 89. He also happens to be Jennifer Aniston’s father. The star shared the unfortunate news that her soap opera father died on Friday, November 11. The late star first had first appeared on the soap opera in 1969 as Dr. Eric Richards. John Aniston stayed on Days of our Lives all the way up until his death. He received the Daytime Emmy Awards’ Lifetime Achievement trophy in 2022. Before he died, the soap opera star on Soap Opera Digest awards in 1986 and 2001. His career spanned 60 years, and numerous credits in television. He served in the United States Navy as an intelligence officer and left the military with the rank of lieutenant commander. John Aniston died at 89 but has his legacy on screen.

John Aniston was born in Crete, Greece, on July 24, 1933. His family moved him to the United States when he was two years old. He made his big screen debut in the 1962 film 87th Precinct. After his initial appearance on Days of our Lives, Anison starred in Love of Life, a CBS soap opera. He later returned to Days of our Lives as Victor Kiriakis. John Aniston became a soap opera star long before he died at 89. He married fellow actor Nancy Dow, the mother of Jennifer Aniston, but they divorced in 1980. Aniston then married his second and last wife Sherry Rooney, with whom he had a son Alexander. He also raised Rooney’s son from a prior relationship as a toddler. John Aniston had credits in the series West Wing, Cold Case, Mad Men, and more. The soap opera star remained loyal to Days of our Lives all the way up until he died at 89.
