Marvel have ruled the TV superhero roost with their MCU shows – and it looks like DC are hoping to challenge them with Titans.
Well, to be exact, these are the Teen Titans. They’re the center of the live-action show that will air on the DC Universe streaming service on October 12th. We’ve already seen a trailer at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, but now EW has revealed a lovely photo of the cast doing their superhero poses! Check it out below:
The photo of the main cast emphasizes what the trailer shows. Gone are the cheesy superhero threads and, in their place, casual civilian clothes. Robin didn’t get the memo, though – but then, he is Batman’s former apprentice.
Regardless, the color of the cast’s clothes vaguely references their comic book counterparts’ colors.
So far, reactions to Titans has been mixed. Well, maybe mixed is too generous. More to the point, the first impressions of the show have generated controversy.

The most obvious of the controversies is the fact Robin kills people. ‘Thou shalt not kill’ is usually the superhero’s common code (and especially Batman and Robin’s), but alas not here. The former sidekick mercilessly slaughters his opponents before cursing, “F–K Batman”.
Some other points of contention between fans and the trailer (or points of unintentional laughter) are the Raven-centred teen angst moments.
But then again, this is merely a trailer. While not promising, we’ll all ultimately see for ourselves when Titans comes out in October.
The show’s first season will comprise of 12 episodes and will star Brenton Thwaites, Anna Diop, Teagan Croft, and Ryan Potter. They play Robin, Starfire, Raven and Beast Boy respectively.
Producing the show will be Akiva Goldsman, Geoff Johns, Greg Berlanti, and Sarah Schechter. Geoff Johns has written for several DC Comics and Greg Berlanti has worked on shows such as Riverdale and Supergirl.
