There is no word yet as to who Harvey Guillén will play in the Blue Beetle movie.
More About The Upcoming Blue Beetle Movie
Blue Beetle is a comic that DC acquired in 1983. The movie will focus on Jamie Reyes, the third inheritor of Blue Beetle. Unlike the two before him, Jamie Reyes is a teen superhero. He also distinguishes himself by being the first Blue Beetle to bond with the alien scarab that grants him a superpowered battle suit. The Blue Beetle suit allows Jamie to project energy, conjure weapons, and fly, among other superpowers. Eventually, Jamie even joins the Teen Titans.
Not much has been revealed about Blue Beetle’s plot apart from the announcement that Jamie’s predecessor Ted Kord will appear in the movie. However, considering that this is Blue Beetle’s first feature film, it’s safe to say that we can expect an origin story. Mass audiences will need to be familiarized with Blue Beetle, who has had limited screen time compared to his Justice League and Teen Titan counterparts. Blue Beetle will join the DC Extended Universe in 2023 along with Shazam! Fury Of The Gods. The movie is currently filming and is expected to release exclusively in theaters on August 18, 2023.
