Dead By Daylight has been a dominant force in the asymmetrical multiplayer space but now will slash the movie scene as Blumhouse is developing a film with Atomic Monster and developer Behaviour Interactive, Variety has reported.
James Wan from Atomic Monster, Jason Blum from Blumhouse, and Behaviour’s Remi Racine will produce the Dead By Daylight movie. Michael Clear, Judson Scott, Ryan Turek, and Russell Binder will executive produce.
The game has a slew of survivors and killers, from original creations designed by Behaviour to horror movie classics like Michael Myers and Ghostface. Whoever gets to direct and write the Dead By Daylight movie will have plenty to work with. There is not much of a story in the game, but plenty of lore to dig into to find a story within.
Dead By Daylight movie in the making from Blumhouse and Atomic Monster
The asymmetrical horror game puts four survivors in an environment in which they must turn on five generators to open a door that leads to safety. A fifth player is a killer of their choosing, who has a unique ability/s and hunts those other players to sacrifice them to a shadowy creature known as The Entity.
The Dead By Daylight movie is the latest collaboration between Atomic Monster and Blumhouse. The studios have recently worked on M3GAN, which kicked 2023 with a bang as the film performed well enough to have a sequel greenlit shortly after its release. The studios are planning to merge with a deal that will close later this year.
The horror game is available on iOS, Android, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Switch, and PC. Even after seven years, it receives frequent updates to balance perks, add new killers and survivors, new maps, and plenty of cosmetics to kill or be killed in style.
