Dead Cells: Return to Castlevania is Dead Cells’ latest DLC. Of course, it’s a crossover with Castlevania. Make sure you look for your long-stored garlic, stakes, and, well, get some roasted chicken while you’re at it.
The day has finally arrived. A few minutes ago, this year’s edition of The Game Awards began. The event where the best video games of 2022 will be recognized. Also, some of what will arrive in the coming years will be announced, which brings us to this press release’s subject matter.
The event started on the right foot. How, you ask? With an epic crossover from two of the most beloved companies in the gaming industry, no less.
One of the first announcements of the ceremony was a brand new and unexpected content addition to Dead Cells. In this case, a DLC crossover with Castlevania. Dead Cells: Return to Castlevania will release in the first quarter of 2023, and so far, we have only seen a small teaser.

Dead Cells, Motion Twin’s Metroidvania roguelike, came out of early access in 2018 and has had multiple content expansions since then, from new zones and bosses to crossovers with other games from publisher Devolver Digital. The original game is well thought out, and very aware of its background. Dead Cells, in practice, is a delight to play, with a unique and extraordinary feel.
We can’t wait to see what Konami brings to the table.
