Looking for even more gore, scares, and horror? Learn all about Dead Space Remake‘s New Game + in this short guide.
The original Dead Space, the one from 2008, was one game worth a couple of spins. It had a few incentives for our second playthrough. First, it was practically mandatory to get its platinum trophy or its 1000G. Upgrading all the weapons to the max required going through Ishimura again, looting and accumulating money to later raid the stores and fill our pockets with nodes. There are even more reasons to start a New Game + in Dead Space Remake.
Rewards for completing Dead Space Remake
Before starting a New Game + in Dead Space Remake, you’ll get 50,000 credits, 10 nodes, and the level 6 suit for Isaac. New textual logs are also unlocked, which you can consult in the menu and delve deeper into the game’s plot.
What’s in Dead Space Remake’s New Game +?
In the New Game + mode, you will have all the completed game’s weapons, items, credits, and upgrades. You will be able to recover them in any Warehouse you find. In addition, you will encounter new enemies, and you may unravel a new mystery.
Keep the following in mind before starting a New Game + in Dead Space Remake:
- You cannot start a New Game + on Extreme difficulty.
- The access level and the DRI of the crew are not preserved.
In other words, the red doors will only be unlocked if you open them in the first game. After that, the stabilization and kinetic modules will return to their original places. So we will wait to start with them.

New Gear, Features, and Collectibles in Dead Space Remake’s New Game +
Gear: Level 6 Suit
The new level 6 suit has been redesigned from the one in the original game (here’s a picture of what it looked like). It is mandatory for the latest health, oxygen, stabilization, and other upgrades. But, as we said, it is not free and costs 99,000 credits in the store.
Foes: Horrid Necromorph
Another new feature in Dead Space Remake‘s New Game + is the new enemies. In the second game, each type of necromorph has a so-called “ghost version,” which is black, has red eyes, and resists much more than average. Terrifying and lethal, they are the main obstacle in the successive rounds in search of the platinum and the 1000G.
Alternative Ending and Collectibles
The alternative ending is the most important addition in Dead Space Remake‘s New Game +.
In New Game + mode, a type of collectible called “Effigy fragments” appears. There are a total of 12.
You must find them all in order because if you skip them, they disappear, and you will have to go to a New Game +.
When you have them, before leaving for Aegir VII, go to the crew quarters and put them on Captain Mathius’ table. Then finish the game, and you will enjoy its new ending.
Dead Space Remake is available on PC, Xbox, and PlayStation.
