The cast is almost complete. Deadline has revealed that Brianna Hildebrand and Shioli Kutsuna will return to reprise their role for Deadpool 3. Along with the rest of the returning cast, this is the first time the characters are going from the distanced corner of the Fox X-Men universe to the MCU.
In Deadpool 3, Brianna Hildebrand and Shioli Kutsuna were a superhero couple introduced in the sequel. The first film introduced Hildebrand as the smart-mouth Negasonic Teenage Warhead, who can launch an explosive attack to obliterate her enemies. Her co-star played, Yukio, the cheery girlfriend, brings contrast to the couple’s dynamic while also being a mutant ninja ready to slash up anyone standing in the way. This time around, we will see the return of writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick are back to pen the script in collaboration with Ryan Reynolds, director Shawn Levy, and She-Hulk: Attorney at Law‘s Zeb Wells. This is the first entry with the Stranger Things producer to direct. The first was directed by Tim Miller (Terminator: Dark Fate), and the sequel was helmed by David Leitch (Bullet Train).
Brianna Hildebrand and Shioli Kutsuna will reunite with their co-stars from the 2018 sequel for Deadpool 3. Returning stars include Reynolds, Karan Soni (Dopinder), Leslie Uggams (Blind Al), Morena Baccarin (Vanessa), Rob Delaney (Peter), and Stefan Kapicic (Colossus). Josh Brolin and Julian Dennison are not set to return to their Deadpool 2 roles. TJ Miller is not returning. When it comes to newcomers, Hugh Jackman is back as Wolverine, with Matthew Macfayden (Succession) and Emma Corrin (The Crown).
Before signing up for Deadpool 3, Brianna Hildebrand and Shioli Kutsuna have been busy. The former has been in Playing with Fire, Tragedy Girls, and First Girl I Loved. The latter has starred in Netflix’s Murder Mystery and Apple TV+’s Invasion.
Deadpool 3 will release on November 8, 2024.
