Deltarune Chapter 2 Launch Time and What We Know So Far
The Deltarune Chapter 2 release date was announced yesterday at the end of the Undertale 6th Anniversary live stream. During the stream, Toby Fox spoke to the staff of Fangamer via voiceover as they played through the original Deltarune, sharing concept art and discussing the development of the game. In the end, there was a prompt asking if the players wanted to advance to Chapter 2, at which point both Toby Fox and the official Undertale Twitter confirmed the release date.
There has not been much information shared about the contents of the chapter itself. An official teaser trailer posted to the Undertale/Deltarune Twitter showed the characters, Kris and Susie, descending back into the Dark World, slowly transitioning into their looks before displaying the release date and time. Currently, it seems players will be able to carry over their adventure from Chapter 1 to Chapter 2. The official website reads:
Q: How do I ensure my save file from Chapter 1 carries over to Chapter 2?
A: Completion data is generated when you see the credits of Chapter 1. (Go to sleep in your bed at the end of the game.)
It has so far not been specified if this only applies to the PC/Mac version of the game or the Nintendo Switch and PS4 versions as well. It was also clarified that save data from Chapter 1 is not required to continue to Chapter 2, so long as you are generally aware of the story. Chapter 1 and 2 also do not represent the full game as it exists now. More information is expected to be released once the game launches.
