The first-ever Demon Slayer Hinokami Kepputan gameplay is now live. The seven-minute footage shows us a glimpse of the game’s “Versus Mode,” where two players are battling against each other. With player one playing as Tanjiro and Inosuke, and player two as Nezuko and Zenitsu, who do you think will win?
During the Kimetsu Matsuri Online: Anime Second Year Anniversary live stream, the show’s hosts shed light on the anticipated Demon Slayer game. The Versus Mode gave us a sneak peek of the playable characters, and these are Tanjiro Kamado, Nezuko Kamado, Inosuke Hashibara, Zenitsu Agatsuma, and Giyu Tomioka.
As the hosts compete with their chosen players: Tanjiro and Inosuke versus Nezuko and Zenitsu, expect anime-like graphics to grace your screen. You will also see familiar moves such as Tanjiro’s Second Form: Water Wheel (Ni no kata: Mizu Guruma). There are also cutscenes whenever the player activates the character’s special move. You can then watch the infamous Tanjiro headbutt, Zenitsu’s perfect First Form: Thunderclap and Flash (Ichi no kata: Hekireki Issen), to Inosuke and Nezuko’s specials.
Demon Slayer Hinokami Kepputan‘s gameplay also shows that even though the players are freely switching characters, the two are sharing health. This resets after every match. There is a 99-second timer and three matches to complete. Players will also have a bar to fill to activate the special, but you must hit your target to trigger it.
This Demon Slayer game is coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via Steam in 2021. The release date for the game is not yet announced even in Japan.
There is also another Demon Slayer game in the works and is targeting iOS and Android users. Called Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Keppu Kengeki Royale is a survival battle between Demon Slayer Corps and human-eating Demons.
