Destiny 2 Season of the Haunted brings new Activities and gear and with them, new consumables as well. One of them is the Bound Presence, which will help you obtain more seasonal loots. Here’s how you can create and use Bound Presence and complete Nightmare Containment Tier III in Destiny 2 Season 17.
How to Get Bound Presence in Destiny 2
As you play through the “Bound in Sorrow” Seasonal Quest of Destiny 2 Season of the Haunted, you’ll be tasked to create Bound Presence. To complete one Bound Presence, you have to spend 500 Vestiges of Dread by interacting with the ominous Nightmare Harvester stick (seen above) at the end of Nightmare Containment Activity Tier III in the Derelict Leviathan, which can be accessed from the Moon.
However, you have to remember that Bound Presence is a random drop. So you might get one at the end of Nightmare Containment Tier III or not, depending on your luck. Nevertheless, the first time you bind a Nightmare Containment boss each week, you get a guaranteed Bound Presence per character.
Unlike other Season of the Haunted consumables such as the Opulent Keys, Bound Presence can be stacked in your inventory, a maximum of five stacks, but they can’t overflow into a new one.
How to Complete Nightmare Containment Tier III and Use Bound Presence in Destiny 2
If you need a quick reminder, this is how Nightmare Containment Activity and Bound Presence works. There are two ways to participate in a Nightmare Containment Activity.
First, you can land straight on Castellum and search for the ongoing Activity in free roam. Just like Public Events, there should be a global message indicating if there’s one currently running or not. For the second method, you have to first go to the Moon. Pick Castellum on the bottom left, click the button that says “Castellum 1580,” then select the Containment mode. Your Power Level will be automatically raised to 1,570 PL in case you’re still below that when participating in the Activity.
The Nightmare Containment Activity starts at Tier I up to Tier III. When Tier I starts, you and your friends (or random teammates) must complete different objectives within a time limit, either defeating specific enemies, attacking objects, or others. Usually, the Activity minibosses will drop Shards of Dream orbs, and if you manage to get all of them, the Nightmare Containment was successful and continues to the next Tier after a short break.
Once Tier III begins, your group will face the final boss of the Activity. Defeat them, then interact with the Nightmare Harvester to complete the Nightmare Activity and for a chance to obtain a Bound Presence. Now, these Bound Presences are used in a different quest. To get more Season-exclusive loots, open the chest at the end of the weekly Sever quest by exchanging one Bound Presence. And that’s how you get and use Bound Presence to complete your Destiny 2 Season of the Haunted gear collection.
