Destiny 2 players can roam the Leviathan patrol zone thanks to the latest season update. You can find new activities and gear, such as what’s hidden in Opulent Chests. The best way to open them in Destiny 2 is to farm Opulent Keys throughout the Leviathan zone.
Farm (and Use) Opulent Keys in the Leviathan Zone in Destiny 2
The Season of the Haunted doesn’t just drop players in a classic zone, but it also marks the return of Opulent weapons. There are several Opulent Chests around Leviathan in Destiny 2, but you need to farm Opulent Keys to open them.
First thing you should know: each key won’t open each chest. Each key holds a clue to the proper location, though, if you examine it.
Secondly, you can only hold 1 Opulent Key at a time. Don’t go off searching for more without first using what you have. Otherwise, you’ll waste your time.
Now, let’s farm some Opulent Keys in Destiny 2.
The introduction mission for Season 17 will automatically get you an Opulent Key.
If you want to farm more, a great way is to participate in the Nightmare Containment activity. When you defeat the final boss, there’s a chance for the chest to drop an Opulent Key.
Besides that, search around the Leviathan zone for Nightmare chests. There is a high chance these chests will contain Opulent Keys too.
Patrol chests can contain Opulent Keys, too, in Destiny 2 for you to farm. They’re around the Pleasure Gardens and Royal Pools, and you can even find more Nightmare chests in the areas.
So you don’t have to stumble blindly for chests, equip the cache detector mod on your Ghost. This way, the chests are marked on your HUD.
As for Opulent Chests, we currently know about six chests. You can find three around the Royal Pools and three around the Pleasure Gardens.
