With the recent announcement of The Witch Queen expansion launching in February 2022, fans of the Destiny series have been excitedly getting back into PvE and PvP to celebrate the new updates. The latest update also featured the Season of the Lost, which features various additions to the game, including new weapons. One of the new weapons featured in this update is the Ascendancy Rocket Launcher, which many believe will be one of the strongest weapons in PvE. By the end of this guide, you will learn more about Ascendancy and how to get it in Destiny 2.
How to Get the Ascendancy Rocket Launcher in Destiny 2
To retrieve the Ascendancy rocket launcher in Destiny 2, you need to reach rank 16 in the Crucible, Gambit, or Vanguard Strikes. Upon reaching rank 16, you can visit the respective playlist vendor and buy the Ascendancy rocket launcher.
Vanguard Strikes is a PvE mode that you can complete dailies in. It is one of the quickest playlists to rank up in and is recommended if you are specifically seeking to progress quickly to get the rocket launcher.
The Crucible and Gambit are PvP modes that you may also use to rank up. Crucible provides a much quicker rate of XP than Gambit, but it is entirely dependent on your preference and playstyle on which playlist you wish to progress in. If you are solely seeking quick rank ups but prefer PvP over PvE, Crucible is recommended.
Ascendancy has some powerful perks that will help you in both PvE and PvP. The perk Explosive Light allows the rocket launcher to deal increased damage and blast radius upon picking up an Orb of Power. The perk Chain Reaction will create an explosion with each final blow to an enemy.
The Ascendancy rocket launcher has the following weapon stats:
- Stability: 48
- Handling: 47
- Reload Speed: 34
- Velocity: 56
- Blast Radius: 65
- Rounds Per Minute: 15
- Magazine: 1
