Destiny 2’s new artifact, the Crown of Sorrow, provides the player with a whole new collection of weapons. Entitled Ghost and Opulent, these weapons and armor are a must-have for any avid Destiny 2 fan. And every curious person is at least interested in checking what this Season is offering. Looking through the Crown upgrades, one might have heard of a weird entity. A specific Avaricious Treasurer has been mentioned in the Upgrades menu, but who knows what that is?
Avaricious Treasurer Enemy in Destiny 2 Explained
In Destiny 2, the Avaricious Treasurer is a hidden cabal that appears at the end of the Sever – Shame Quest. To fully utilize this enemy, go to the Upgrades menu at the Crown of Sorrows and get the ‘Treasurer Special Rewards’ bonus. This will allow you to obtain additional loot from him the first time you defeat him each week.
The Treasurer drops around 3-5 Opulent Umbral Energy with a decent amount of Glimmer and equipment. The Opulent Umbral Energy is the real prize here since you need 10 of these to craft the special event armors and 27 for the weapons. They are difficult to get, so this will be helpful.
Location of the Avaricious Treasurer
First of all, the only mission where the player finds this enemy happens on the Moon called Sever – Shame. Second of all, the expedition has a high power recommendation of 1560. Start the quest with friends or solo, and get through all the Nightmares. Reaching the last room and killing all the additional enemies with the scythe, a portal will open. You can see it in the picture above. The Avaricious Treasurer is waiting behind the massive yellow forcefield around the arena.
Go through the portal and turn around. Advance until you see the cabal through the holed wall. He will instantly attack, but the player should easily best him with the scythe. This foe doesn’t have any special abilities or powers that can bother the Guardian.
Since you only get the bonus rewards for slaying him once a week, there is no reason to come back for him again. Just make sure to check in with the guy next week.
Destiny 2 is available on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox platforms.
