Diablo Immortal, the free-to-play spin-off to the legendary action RPG series Diablo, is now available to play in the open beta phase. Nevertheless, since it’s meant to be a test period, the fanbase has encountered some weird quirks about the game. One of the most annoying ones is the bug that mostly affects mobile players, where the game doesn’t output any music and sound at all for some reason. While waiting for a patch, Diablo Immortal players have found various workarounds that might fix the no sound issue/bug for you as well.
1. Make Sure You Have Downloaded the Audio Resources Pack
The base install size of Diablo Immortal is around 2.4GB on Android and 3.5GB on iOS. But there are additional 700MB files you need to download to make the game “complete.” One of them is the two Audio Resources Packs, around 385MB total. Here’s how to get it:
- On the main menu, press the Download Manager icon (the one with the down arrow icon) in the right corner of your screen.
- Swipe right until you see the Audio Resources Pack.
- Download it if you haven’t.
2. Try Disabling Audio-Playing Background Apps
The second method that could fix the no sound bug in Diablo Immortal is turning off other apps. Some background apps that can output audio seem to mess with and disable in-game sound, and according to most players, one of the culprits is Spotify. With that in mind, you might want to turn off Spotify, Discord, and other audio-based apps one by one before running Diablo Immortal for the time being and see if one of them does cause the issue.
3. Use Bluetooth Headphone
Some players on Reddit wrote that when playing with the speaker, the sound doesn’t come out. But when they start the game with Bluetooth earphones or headphones such as the AirPods, they can hear just fine through the headphones. Try connecting a pair if you have them lying around. Unfortunately, no one has mentioned anything about wired earphones.
4. Turn Off Do Not Disturb/Silent Mode
Several Reddit users have mentioned that turning off or switching your phone from Do Not Disturb or Silent Mode to other notification modes might fix the issue for some reason. Yep, lots of “for some reason” here. That’s why it’s called a bug.
5. Pick the Repair Client Option
You might also want to repair the app through the Repair Client option. To do it, simply:
- Look for the Settings icon (the one with the wrench and screwdriver icon) on the main menu.
- Then hit OK when you see a window pop up that reads Repair Client.
- Close the game and relaunch it. Try restarting your phone if it doesn’t work.
6. Switch from iPhone to iPad
Several people on the internet that were using the iPhone have mentioned that, for some reason, when they transfer their progress to the iPad the sound works just fine. If you’re playing on an iPhone and have an iPad lying around, try switching your gaming device for the time being. Diablo Immortal no sound bug could be related to iOS’s firmware versions, but no one is sure.
7. Download the Latest Update
Lastly, if Blizzard and NetEase have recognized the sound issue and dropped a patch or update for Diablo Immortal, you’ll want to grab the latest update as soon as possible:
- Head over to the App Store (iOS) or Play Store (Android).
- Type Diablo Immortal in the search bar and open the store page. Or open the My Apps list and look for Diablo Immortal.
- Press the Update button.
- Download the update over WiFi to ensure that you don’t use any monthly data cap and that all files get downloaded without interruptions.
- Don’t forget to prepare enough space on your phone for the update.
