Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ response to Eminem’s claim he killed Tupac has resurfaced amid an investigation to determine the late rapper’s killer. In one of his songs, Eminem suggested it was Diddy who put out a hit on Tupac Shakur back in 1996.
Eminem’s track “Killshot” directly names Diddy as the perpetrator of Tupac’s untimely death at age 25. Diddy’s response has regained significance in the investigation, all while the “I’ll Be Missing You” singer faces lawsuits and home raids.
Eminem Has Since Claimed He Was Only Joking
In the 2018 track, Eminem raps: “Kells, the day you put out a hit’s the day Diddy admits that he put the hit out that got Pac killed,” referencing the infamous drive-by homicide that got Tupac killed in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Diddy responded to Eminem’s call-out in a since-deleted episode of Joe Budden‘s YouTube podcast. He confirms to listeners that the situation was “handled privately” and nothing else needs to come from it. ‘There’s nothing to say about it.’ It’s in my hands. He wild,” he said.
Diddy has been the central focus of rumors surrounding Tupac’s death for decades, especially since he managed Tupac’s rival the Notorious B.I.G., who was also murdered in a drive-by shooting just a year after Tupac.
However, developments in the case have shifted the focus away from Diddy. Last September, Keefe D was arrested and charged with allegedly providing the weapon used to kill Tupac. Keefe D’s will stand trial on November 4.
But that’s only the beginning of Diddy’s legal controversies. On March 4, 2024, music producer Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones filed a lawsuit against Combs and his son Justin, alleging that they engaged in a “massive” cover-up in the shooting of a 30-year-old man at a “writers and producers camp” held at Combs’ Chalice Recording Studio in Los Angeles in September 2022. This comes amid a lawsuit against Diddy by Lil Rod for alleged sexual assault.
On March 25, 2024, Combs’ associate Brendan Paul was arrested on charges of cocaine and controlled substance possession. In court documents, Paul was accused of being Diddy’s “drug mule.”
