Like in previous Digimon games, Digimon Survive gives you access to more than 100 Digimon. Even with this visual novel-type game, your choices will determine the digivolution and the story outcome. There are several paths to take, encouraging players to jump into the game multiple times to discover them all. However, this also has some tactical RPG elements. As such, you’ll more than likely encounter some trouble. If you run into a tough chapter fight in Digimon Survive, consider changing the battle difficulty to help move the story along.
How to Change Battle Difficulty in Digimon Survive
Thanks to the tactical RPG elements in Digimon Survive, not every chapter battle is easy to get through. Or perhaps the fights you encounter seem too simple for you, and you desire a challenge. No matter the case, it’s best to learn how to change the battle difficulty in Digimon Survive.
Unfortunately, the game isn’t totally clear on how you can do this. Once you understand, it’s easy and quick. Plus, you can even change this at several points throughout the game. Each time the clear conditions appear on the screen, you can adjust the battle difficulty.
When this shows up on the screen, look to the bottom right corner. You’ll notice a simple sign that states (X) Difficulty.
This is the moment when you want to press X. An overlay screen will pop up, allowing you to change the Digimon Survive battle difficulty. You can choose from the following options:
- Very Easy
- Easy
- Normal
- Hard
When you’re just starting out, it helps to keep it on the lower difficulties. This way, you’ll gain XP and keep the story moving until you’re more comfortable. Otherwise, if facing a challenging chapter in Digimon Survive, you can find yourself forced to retreat. In this case, you’ll lose all the XP and any rewards you’ve gained in that chapter.
As a visual novel, battles aren’t on the forefront, but knowing you can change the settings whenever they crop up will always come in handy.
