One of the main gameplay aspects of Disney Dreamlight Valley is farming, the act of planting and harvesting crops on one’s farmland. Much like Stardew Valley, Disney fans will need to cultivate their produce for a variety of activities, such as cooking meals, completing quests, or earning Star Coins, the game’s central currency. Farming in Disney Dreamlight Valley is incredibly easy to do, as the mechanics and management aspects of crop cultivation have a very low barrier to entry. In other words, even the most “non-gamer” individuals will be able to grasp how it works in no time.
How To Plant & Harvest Crops In Disney Dreamlight Valley
To get started on farming in Disney Dreamlight Valley, players must first complete the main campaign quest, “The Royal Tools,” during which adventurers will search around the starting area for items such as a Shovel and Watering Can. The Shovel can be found across the fountain opposite the player home, and the Watering Can is by the house’s back-right corner.

How to Fast Travel in Disney Dreamlight Valley
Once players have the tools they need for farming in Disney Dreamlight Valley, they can begin tilling the land to plant their crops. However, before fans start making plots in the soil, they must purchase fruit or vegetable seeds from Goofy’s shop. Goofy has several shops throughout the Valley, and each sells items exclusive to the zone. As for the starting area, Peaceful Meadows, players can purchase Carrot Seeds to begin their farm.Â
First, search for a suitable area to plant the seeds. Remove any purple thorns or relocate any decorative objects like stones or bushes. Such items can be moved about by entering the Furniture menu and using the move tool. Next, equip the Shovel and dig a hole into the ground. Stand over it and press the interact button to see a list of seeds that players can plant. If the individual planting only has a single type of seed, that type will be the only one that appears. Hold the interact button again over the desired crop to plant it in the ground. The final step for farming in Disney Dreamlight Valley is watering the crops using the Watering Can. Once this is done, all players must do is wait for their plants to mature and ripen.
When harvesting in Disney Dreamlight Valley, it is highly recommended fans bring a Villager companion along. This Villager will be able to reap extra items from the crop yield if they prefer farming. The higher their Friendship, the more bonus crops the NPC will collect for the player while harvesting.
Disney Dreamlight Valley is available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S|X, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
