According to Gamerant, Hardwood can also be encountered in the Forest of Valor, Forgotten Lands, Frosted Heights, and Sunlit Plateau. However, keep in mind that zones such as the Forgotten Lands, Frosted Heights, and Sunlit Plateau will not become available until further in the main campaign. Therefore, the best early areas for farming Hardwood in the Valley will be the Glade of Trust and the Forest of Valor, two regions that adventurers will gain access to within their first few hours of playtime.
To find Hardwood in Disney Dreamlight Valley, forage the area by looking at the ground, particularly near trees. Hardwood has an identical model to Softwood, which might confuse players as to which is which. Luckily, the colors for each resource are relatively distinct. Softwood is a pile of sticks with a creamy, light brown color. On the other hand, Hardwood is much more reddish and darker in its hue. For comparison, those who’ve played Stardew Valley might recognize that Hardwood in Disney Dreamlight Valley has the same color as the Hardwood farmed from stumps in the Secret Woods. The russet color distinguishes Hardwood from ordinary wood.
Unfortunately, those who have trouble recognizing colors might have a problem discerning Hardwood in the Valley since its model is shared with Softwood. Therefore, it is recommended for such individuals to always pick up the darker color shade of sticks when foraging for Hardwood in the wilderness.
Disney Dreamlight Valley is available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S|X, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
