Disney’s Animal Kingdom- the same theme park that brought you family attractions like Avatar Flight Of Passage and Disney Kite Tails- unveiled a brand new update to one of their live shows! Finding Nemo: The Big Blue…and Beyond! comes to Orlando’s Walt Disney World this summer.
Finding Nemo: The Big Blue…and Beyond! Is An Update On Disney Animal Kingdom’s Finding Nemo: The Musical
In Walt Disney World’s First Look at the new attraction, Disney’s Live Entertainment Show Director James Silson confirmed that Finding Nemo: The Big Blue and Beyond! is a reimagining of Finding Nemo: The Musical-a live puppet show that ran in Disney Animal Kingdom’s Theater In The Wild from January 2007 – March 2020.
The Big Blue…and Beyond! will tell the tale of the same group of fish from Finding Nemo who made their way across the ocean to Finding Dory’s Marine Life Institute. The musical shows the fish retelling the story of the Disney Pixar film through a series of flashbacks and musical numbers (including “In the Big Blue World” and “Go with the Flow.”) right before they’re set free to live in the ocean.
All The Thrills And Updates You Can Expect From The New Musical
The Disney Animal Kingdom musical is said to be a complete transformation from its successor and features updates to its lighting, artwork, and special effects. The cast and crew of Big Blue and Beyond! reportedly utilized updated technology to enhance its visuals and animation, collaborating with Pixar to create state-of-the-art artwork to be brought to life in front of our very eyes.
The vibrant watercolor aesthetics in the show are inspired by paper sculptures and are meant to make the audience feel completely immersed in the underwater universe. In addition to new elaborate set pieces, attendees can expect to see:
- Life-sized puppets that replicate characters from Finding Nemo.
- Updated animated backdrops.
- Innovative lighting, sound, and special effects.
- As well as updated songs and performances live on stage.
Finding Nemo: The Big Blue…and Beyond! Is coming this summer to DinoLand U.S.A. at Walt Disney World’s Animal Kingdom.
