According to industry insider Daniel Richtman, Marvel may be releasing the first trailer for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness in December. Dropping the Doctor Strange 2 trailer in December would make a lot of sense, especially when you consider that Spider-Man: No Way Home releases in December as well.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is certainly one of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s most ambitious and most anticipated projects yet. Not only is it a sequel to 2016’s Doctor Strange but, it will also tie in with the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home and WandaVision.
Alongside the returning cast from the first Doctor Strange film, the sequel will feature Elizabeth Olsen’s Wanda Maximoff in a key role and introduce America Chavez (played by Xochitl Gomez) to the MCU. There are even rumors that Wanda will be the antagonist of the movie.
Doctor Strange 2 also sees Sam Raimi return to the director’s chair for another superhero movie after the divisive Spider-Man 3, and we’ll see the first glimpse of his modern superhero work in said trailer.
Raimi recently spoke with Collider about returning to superhero movies after Spider-Man 3:
I didn’t know that I could face it again because it was so awful, having been the director of Spider-Man 3. The Internet was getting revved up and people disliked that movie and they sure let me know about it. So, it was difficult to take back on. But then, I found out that there was an opening on Doctor Strange 2. My agent called me and said, ‘They’re looking for a director at Marvel for this movie and your name came up. Would you be interested?’ And I thought, ‘I wonder if I could still do it.’ They’re really demanding, those types of pictures. And I felt, ‘Well, that’s reason enough.’ I’ve always really liked the character of Doctor Strange. He was not my favorite, but he was right up there with the favorites. I loved the first movie, I thought [director] Scott Derrickson did a wonderful job, an incredible job. So, I said, ‘Yeah.’ They left the character in a great place. I didn’t think I would be doing another superhero movie. it just happened.”
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness stars Benedict Cumberbatch, Elizabeth Olsen, Rachel McAdams, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Rachel McAdams, Benedict Wong, and Xochitl Gomez. The film is expected to hit theaters on March 25, 2022.
