The BBC series Doctor Who has given their fans their first look as Ncuti Gatwa in full attire as the 15th Doctor. Gatwa was announced to be the newest incarnation of the Doctor back in May, making him the first black actor to play the character regularly. Each Doctor has had a unique style (e.g., Tom Baker’s hat and scarf, Sylvester McCoy’s question mark ensemble, and Matt Smith’s bowtie). In a post on the official Doctor Who Twitter page, we see Gatwa’s unique look, which consists of necklaces, an orange seater, and a plaid coat with matching pants. We also get our first look at the Doctor’s new companion, Ruby Sunday, played by Millie Gibson.

‘Doctor Who’ Reveals 15th Doctor Ncuti Gatwa’s New Look
Gatwa is taking over the reins for Jodie Whittaker, the first female to play the Doctor. Whittaker’s last episode aired in October, though it ended with the twist of her regenerating back into the 10th Doctor, famously played by David Tennant. That Doctor and his former companion Donna Noble (Catherine Tate), will appear in three Doctor Who specials airing November 2023. Gatwa will make his debut at the same time.
Aside from this new role, Gatwa also portrays Eric Effiong in the Netflix series Sex Education which is a role he will continue playing in season four. He will also be appearing in the upcoming Barbie movie. Millie Gibson, who was announced as the 15th Doctor’s new companion in November, is known for her acclaimed portrayal of Kelly Neelan on the British soap opera Coronation Street. Both Gatwa and Gibson will be making their Doctor Who debuts as the 15th Doctor and his companion next year.
