Bandai Namco has long since been considering what to do with Dragon Ball video games. After creating their epic, Dragon Ball Z Kakarot, fans have been curious as to where the franchise could go. Seeing how far the world of Dragon Ball spans, there’s quite a lot of interesting avenues for video games. As such, Bandai Namco has finally showcased one of their upcoming projects utilizing the Dragon Ball property. While the title isn’t the flashiest title in the Dragon Ball Z universe, it does place an interesting perspective on players. As such, the title’s express interest in a multiplayer experience is a first for the franchise. Announced on Twitter this morning was the reveal of Dragon Ball: The Breakers, a 1v7 online asynchronous title.

What is Bandai Namco’s Dragon Ball: The Breakers?
While the Dragon Ball universe has always pitted strong fighters against even stronger villains, there are many casualties involved. The perspective of an average human in the Dragon Ball universe has largely been unexplored aside from a few short scenes in the anime. Likewise, the various villains would pose an innumerable threat to all bystanders. Giving players the express purpose of surviving and fighting against the odds as civilians is interesting. Bandai Namco’s announcement does also come with the reveal of an open beta. Set to launch on PC sometime soon, the wider release will include all consoles on launch day. While details are sparse on what Dragon Ball: The Breakers gameplay and features will be like, hopefully fans will get a fuller picture in the near future. With no set release date in place, the open beta could suggest an early release next year. Despite this, fans will just have to wait for 2022 before they can get their hands on Dragon Ball: The Breakers.
