Dungeons and Dragons fans have a tentative date for when they can expect to see the follow-up event to The Stream of Many Eyes. Plus developers showed off a look at the next core book for Fifth Edition.
It appears one of the new books planned for this year will take place under the sea. This will be the first of the 5E books to take adventures beneath and on the swelling waves. Sr. Director of Dungeons and Dragons Nathan Stewart and Game Designer Kate Welch made the announcement on Twitch with their first episode of Spoilers and Swag this year.
One of the spoilers of the videos was a sneak peek at one the upcoming book with a nautical theme. However, aside from the adventure location, they didn’t give out much more information. Welch showed off four potential covers for the book with possible names for the content. The first was called “Long Walk, Short Plank”, which seems like it could be the actual title. The second featured a more comical tone called “Under the Sea”. While the third “Thanks for the Fish”, and fourth, “Boats and Shite” seem more on the comedic side.
Stewart and Welch said the team at Dungeons and Dragons is also working on a new variant cover for one of their previous books released but did not say which one. (Mad Mage or Dragon Heist?)
They also showed off new shirts with the Dungeons and Dragons logo on sale this year. They followed it up by announcing a tentative date for the successor to their live streamed Stream of Many Eyes. The untitled event will take place May 17th through the 19th.
Their big story, like last year’s Waterdeep: Dungeon of the Mad Mage and Dragon Heist, will be announced in the summer with a release date set for September.
The deep sea themed book is in the final stages of editing, according to Welch. The official announcement from Wizards of the Coast is expected soon.
