PAX is a series of gaming culture festivals that celebrate tabletop, arcade, and video gaming. Taking place in Philadelphia this year from November 30th – December 2nd, Dungeons and Dragons has an impressive line up of panels and guests that are featured.
Their opening ceremony has speaker Jeremy Crawford. Crawford is the lead rules designer of Dungeons and Dragons and its managing editor. He oversees the creation of all of the books. Crawford discussed his career at Wizards of the Coast. A lineup of interesting panels continues throughout the days. There is Conflict Resolution at the Game Table that deals with difficulties between players. There are Art and Arcana: A Visual History of D&D that will explore the evolution of the game’s visuals. Creating Dynamic RPG Characters and Evolution of Lore in D&D will be discussed.
Many panels will also focus on diversity and inclusion in tabletop gaming. There will be Latinx in Tabletop, Executive Women in Tabletop, Transgender Representation in RPG’s, Hand Her a Sword: Instilling Confidence in Girls with RPG’s, and many more. We will also get to see a live performance of the Dungeons and Dragons show Dice, Camera, Action.
There is an impressive array of guests for PAX Unplugged aside from Jeremy Crawford. Artist and storyteller Holly Conrad will be there. She is famous for her YouTube channel and also for playing Strix, a tiefling sorcereress and trash witch on Dice, Camera, Action. Tanya DePass is the founder and director of I Need Diverse Games, a nonprofit in Chicago. She is also part of the Spawn on Me podcast and programming coordinator for OrcaCon. Carlos Luna produces the D&D podcast The Dungeon Rats and is a co-founder of Neon Rival, a group of artists that produce audio dramas. Adam Koebel is a Twitch broadcaster and DM for the RollPlay family of shows and an advocate for diversity in games. He also hosts a weekly YouTube call-in advice show called Office Hours. There is also Anna Prosser, host and video game media personality and co-founder of Misscliks for women in gaming culture. Satine Phoenix is a comic book creator, illustrator, and author who co-created Maze Arcana and is a player on Geek and Sundry’s Table Top, Sagas of Sundry: Dread, and a DM for Sirens of the Realms. She is also the host of Geek and Sundry’s GM Tips, taking over after Matthew Mercer.
