Dying Light 2 prides itself heavily on its combat, featuring plenty of tools throughout the world to slaughter zombies and hostile humans alike. The stores and crates scattered around provide you with plenty of valuable tools which can help make a zombie’s head easily fly clean off. While many forms of blunt and sharp objects can do the trick nicely, you may be wondering if any sort of proper guns are in the world anywhere. It is 2036 after all, so it’s not like guns just don’t exist right? Well, not quite. In this guide, we’ll answer the questions of if guns are found anywhere in Dying Light 2.
Are There Guns in Dying Light 2?
For the short answer, no, there are no guns. For a more elaborate answer though, guns were outlawed in The City prior to it succumbing to the infestation somewhat. Therefore, guns haven’t been present in the city in a decade and a half at least, leaving blunt and sharp objects as the only tools able to harm another person. With that being said, there are other ranged options available to you. As just one example, throwing knives can be crafted to give your enemies a sharp slash to the head for a potentially easy kill. There’s also throwables as well, should hitting an enemy with a bottle or small explosive be more your style. And finally, there’s a bow available to you later in the game, though we’ll save the details surrounding that to a future guide from us.
While it’s disappointing to see guns removed from Dying Light 2 since their inclusion in the original game, given the focus on parkour and close-range combat, it likely wouldn’t make a lot of sense. Either way, axes slicing an enemy’s head off is arguably more satisfying anyways.
