Dying Light 2, contrary to its predecessor Dying Light, does not feature guns of any kind. As mentioned in our guide linked here, guns were outlawed in The City before the outbreak, so no guns are found anywhere and folks have resorted to using melee weapons for survival. At least, that’s what you’re led to believe. Despite the lack of guns, there is actually one ranged weapon in the game in the form of a Bow. You may be asking though, how do you get this bow you mention? Well, let me tell you! Here’s how you can get a bow and begin nailing zombies and hostile humans alike in the head in Dying Light 2!
How to Get a Bow in Dying Light 2
First of all, it’s important to note that any amount of searching around the map is going to prove futile. Instead, you want to progress the story until you come to the mission Lets Waltz. Now, I’d rather not go into spoilers here, but you’ll want to continue the mission until you make your way to the Central Loop and complete the mission. Upon completion of the mission, you’ll get the usual helping of Combat and Parkour XP, along with the new Pipe Bow which can be equipped as one of your weapons! Unfortunately, you won’t have much reason to use it when you get it, as the game keeps you on a linear path to teach you yet another new mechanic, one I also won’t be going into for spoilers. Needless to say, it’s a lot of fun.
Once you’re all cleaned up on the basics though, you can take that fancy new Pipe Bow for a spin and enjoy the sheer power of silently picking whatever targets you wish from a distance. Just make sure you have a steady supply of arrows, for obvious reasons.
