Dying Light 2 offers you many ways to play how you’d like. Whether it be through the skills you take, ways to take on an encounter, or choices you make throughout the story, how you play is completely up to you. One particularly different way to play, and one that’s taken directly from the original Dying Light, is through co-op. You and up to three friends can play together, or some randoms of some sort, and take on The City together using your different Aidens. How you do this may be a bit confusing though, so allow me to elaborate. Here’s how you can play Dying Light 2 in co-op!
How to Play Dying Light 2 in Co-Op
The first thing you’ll want to do is ensure that you’re past the linear parts of the game. This is the first few hours where you’re learning the basics and essentially following our good buddy Hakon from place to place. Once you get into the open-world section of the game though, head to the pause menu and select “Online Menu” from the four options. This will give you a menu showing your character, along with many options through the left side. The one we’re looking for is “Online Options”.
Once in this new menu, navigate to Game Type and switch it to your desired mode from Single Player. For a proper explanation, you’ll want to set your game to Public to have random players join your fight, Private to be exclusive to those you invite to your game, and Friends Only to let only your friends join your fight. You can also set your Call for Help settings here if on Public, letting you set how often the game will find you friends to play with. From there, just invite your friends or link up with random players, and start slaughtering Zombies together!
