Dying Light 2 goes the Borderlands route when it comes to its weapons, and by that I mean there’s a lot of them. It almost feels like every corner you turn, there’s some new weapon just asking to be bashed into the side of a zombie’s skull. Where it differs from Borderlands though is in the weapon durability system, which causes your weapons to lose durability every time you hit a foe. When that number reaches zero, the weapon is gone for good. Naturally, you may be wondering how you can repair your weapons in Dying Light 2 and while there is a way, it’s a bit unorthodox.
How to Repair Your Weapons in Dying Light 2
As you may have assumed at this point, you can’t go the traditional route of putting resources into repairing your weapon at some sort of workbench or location of the sort. Instead, you have to do it through one of the strangest ways possible: weapon mods. These mods will do what they say on the tin, in that they enhance your weapons with specific stats such as shock. What they also do though is increase your weapon’s durability by 50, in essence providing 50 more hits before the weapon decides its had enough.
With that being said though, this isn’t an invitation to start slapping weapon mods on every weapon you have. While this can help you out, weapon mods can’t be removed from your weapons. They aren’t cheap either, depending on how much looting you’ve been doing throughout your adventures. As such, this should only be done to weapons you absolutely want to keep as long as possible. While 50 hits might not sound like too much, trust me. It can be quite helpful.
