Dying Light 2 features many, many choices for players to make to shape the future of their experience. No matter how big or small of an effect a single choice has, the ability to shape your Aiden so heavily to be yours is something you have to respect as a labor of love from the developers. They follow it through all the way to the end as well, culminating in a final choice to determine Aiden’s true alignment. With Lawan forced to detonate the bombs manually, Aiden has the choice to either get Mia and escape X13 or go back to save Lawan. If you find yourself having trouble making this decision, let us help. In this guide, we’ll explain whether you should save Lawan or let her detonate the bombs in Dying Light 2!
Should You Save Lawan or Let Her Detonate the Bombs in Dying Light 2?
Save Lawan
If you decide that Lawan is too valuable for you to lose, you’ll be put into a two-minute chase sequence where you must reach her before the bombs detonate. There are no enemies down this path though, instead requiring you to make various jumping and running sequences to reach her. Once you do, you’ll engage in a short fight after she punches you, culminating in you turning but choosing to take her to safety instead of killing her. Needless to say, the missiles will go off and destroy Villedor for the most part, though leaving the Fish Eye Canteen alive for one of the final cutscenes.
Let Her Detonate the Bombs
If you let her detonate the bombs, a cutscene will play out seeing Aiden grab Mia and escape X13 as Lawan says her final words before the bombs go off and destroy the missiles. Though there’s a catch here. If you managed to keep Hakon alive up to this point, including seeing him at X13 and helping him go against Waltz’s Renegades in the base, Hakon will end up saving her from X13. The end cutscene will change for the better, with the Fish Eye Canteen much more lively thanks to Villedor not being absolutely decimated.
