Shadow of the Tomb Raider is the direct follow up to Rise of the Tomb Raider, and showcases the open world, stealth action direction the series is headed. To kick off their E3 show, Square Enix showcased some new gameplay footage and a trailer for Lara Croft’s upcoming adventure. Check out what Lara can do below (via Gamespot):
Showing off some of Lara’s new stealth skills and death-dealing methods, Shadow of the Tomb Raider continues the trend of making Lara more like the Batman we’ve seen from the Arkham series. You can see her using the environment to camouflage herself, getting the drop on foes by utilizing elevation around her, and blowing them up with explosive objects. Essentially, she is a badass killing machine, and it looks like Shadow of the Tomb Raider will provide you with a fun open world to play in.
You can also see some classic open world AI, as a guy who was just talking to someone seemingly forgets that they were there once they turn up dead.
Shadow of the Tomb Raider releases on September 14 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. We quite liked Rise of the Tomb Raider, and hopefully the sequel continues the trend. Stay tuned for more info.
