Recently, EA listed a post regarding the removal of a few old Battlefield Games from all digital Storefronts, including the original Mirror’s Edge. Starting April 28, 2023, all aforementioned games will be removed from all stores. But what’s this? EA isn’t removing Mirror’s Edge?
So, EA Isn’t Removing Mirror’s Edge After All?

Earlier today, the company mentioned that after supporting these old games for decades, the company was finally pulling the plug and deshelving the titles in a recent blog post on the EA Website.
As we close in on 15 years since the release of Battlefield 1943, Bad Companyâ„¢ 1 & 2, and Mirror’s Edge, we are announcing that their journey is coming to an end.
Starting April 28 2023, Battlefield 1943, Battlefield: Bad Company 1 & 2, and Mirror’s Edge will be removed from digital storefronts and you will no longer be able to purchase them.
This is in preparation for the retirement of the online services for these titles which will happen on December 8 2023. For Bad Company 1 & 2, you can still continue playing them and use their respective offline features, such as the single player campaign. You can also read our FAQ and Service Updates for further information on the retirement of online services.
With this announcement we also want to take a moment today to reflect on our time with Battlefield 1943 and, Bad Company 1 & 2 , and Mirror’s Edge. We share amazing memories of not only their development, but also playing them alongside you. – EA
But within a matter of minutes, Electronic Arts decided to delete any mention of Mirror’s Edge from the post. This discrepancy was pointed out by many users on Twitter.
So was this a fluke? A typo of some sort, or will Electronic Arts can Mirror’s Edge on a separate date with a dedicated post? Considering Mirror’s Edge doesn’t use any live services and is exclusively a single-player game. The title will live to see another day.
So what do you think about EA’s little mistake? Could it have been due to some internal miscommunication, or did a writer not get the memo straight? Or will EA can the title with a separate blog post? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below. Stay tuned for more on The NerdStash!
