It is always sad to hear and see games closing down one after another. Rumbleverse was one of the first to announce its closing this year, and many others have been joining it. This time, Echoes of Mana, a mobile game from Square Enix, just announced that it is shutting down later this year. This is sad for those who enjoy mobile games but not too crazy given how saturated the market has become. With big games on mobile platforms like Genshin Impact, Honkai Star Rail, and Fire Emblem Heroes, a few can compete against them. So, mark the calendar because you only have a few months left on this game.
Echoes of Mana is shutting down on May 15, 2023
With the official announcement of Echoes of Mana shutting down, the game has its days counted. With the announcement, the game will also stop selling Spirit Crystals, the currency of the game. While players can still use what they have, they won’t be able to get more. This means that players might stop playing even before its official closing, but it remains to be seen. We have no idea if Square Enix is doing this to focus on other titles or just because the game wasn’t too successful.
Notice: End of App Service
Echoes of Mana will end service on May 15th, 2023 at 6:00 (UTC).

Capcom and Crunchyroll to Release Street Fighter Mobile Game
It is surprising to see that the game is closing just over a year after its official release. The game launched in April of 2022, and while it had some players, it never reached the heights of other mobile titles. As we mentioned, the market has become quite saturated with many franchises looking to make their way to mobile platforms. An example is Diablo Immortal. Even with its horrible monetization tactics, it still managed to earn a lot of money. This means that companies will keep aiming for this market which is both good and worrisome. So, now that Echoes of Mana is shutting down, it might be time to look for another title to sink our time in. There are many mobile games out there so thankfully you won’t be looking for a new game for long.
