The One-Eyed Shield in Elden Ring grants its wielder a means of offense while being protected from frontal damage. This is thanks to the Greatshield’s unique skill known as Flame Spit. As its name implies, the Flame Spit spews a ball of fire from the shield’s “mouth.” Similar to the Flame Sling Incantation in Elden Ring, the Flame Spit’s projectile has quite a heavy drop, causing it to land only several meters away. Furthermore, a brief animation occurs when priming the hidden Flame Spit weapon behind the Greatshield. However, this counter-attack can become an excellent way to surprise an offensive opponent if timed correctly.Â
One-Eyed Shield Location in Elden Ring
The location of the One-Eyed Shield in Elden Ring is a small fortress within the Mountaintops of the Giants called the Guardians’ Garrison. Tarnished adventurers must travel to this fort and defeat its leader, Chief Guardian Arghanthy, who will drop the Greatshield upon death.

The Guardians’ Garrison is located up the slope opposite of Heretical Rise in Elden Ring. Starting from the Site of Grace in front of Freezing Lake, players must ride southward across the ice towards the First Church of Marika. Turn right and continue on the uphill trail, but be careful of a giant-headed wolf beast that will attempt to ambush the player along the way. After reaching the Whiteridge Road Site of Grace, ride onward into the fort.
Inside, Tarnished will not be able to mount Torrent. After dismounting, immediately run to the left and climb up the ladder to the upper level. Adventurers must then make their way over to the rampart on the left and jump onto the wooden platform pathway winding up the tower. At the top, Chief Guardian Arghanthy will come out to challenge the player. Once defeated, he will drop the One-Eyed Shield.
Elden Ring is available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
