Out of all the new features introduced with Elden Ring, the most important one to getting you through the game is definitely the map. Being the first Souls game that is a fully open world, and it’s a massive world at that, the map is a helpful tool to help you get your bearings and plan out how you will get through the Lands Between. This guide will explain how to use the map in Elden Ring.
How To Use The Map In Elden Ring
To access your overworld map, you will need to first find the map to that region, as before you do so, you are going to have a blank brown page. The Nerd Stash will be putting up guides to each of these map fragment locations in the coming days, so check back for those locations. When you do get your hands on it, you can see it by hitting your back button, the button that used to be for accessing the Gestures menu. This will bring out a detailed depiction of The Lands Between. From here, you can do several things: first, every named location that you have previously visited will be displayed, so you will know where to go if you wish to return somewhere. You can also fast travel to any one of the Sites of Grace you have activated in the game as long as you aren’t in a dungeon.

The map can also allow you to put down beacons of light for you to help get around the absolutely huge world of the Lands Between. Finally, the map also allows you to place down markers that can label different areas, such as marking them as having strong enemies, treasure, or merchants. It is imperative that you know how to use the map in order to get through Elden Ring.
