If you can’t choose whether you want to wield magic or get up close and personal with the enemy, Elden Ring gives you the perfect Class: Confessor. The character is excellent with a sword and incantations. So, they’re an excellent choice for players that want to experiment with both. But what makes for the best Confessor build in Elden Ring? Let’s break the class down and figure it out.
The Best Confessor Build in Elden Ring
If you’ve played these types of games before, you’ll quickly recognize the Confessor as a sort of inquisitor character. They’re a hybrid, seeing as they rely on magic and melee. We don’t recommend this as a go-to Class for beginners, however. Some serious balance is needed in the stats that may overwhelm players who aren’t used to this.
Nevertheless, Confessor can be great once you know how to use them.
So, what is the best Confessor build to use in Elden Ring? Let’s start out with the basics about this Class first.
Starting out at Level 10, they have the following stat spread:
- Faith: 14
- Mind: 13
- Strength: 12
- Dexterity: 12
- Endurance: 10
- Vigor: 10
- Intelligence: 9
- Arcane: 9
You also get some nice equipment in the beginning:
- Assassin’s Approach
- Blue Crest Heater Shield
- Broadsword
- Finger Seal
- Urgent Heal
How does the Confessor class stand out?
The Broadsword is also useful to use in both the beginning and near the middle of your travels through the Lands Between.
Also, their higher stats of Faith and Strength, for instance, makes it easy to wield weapons and cast without difficulty in the early stages.
To create the best Confessor build in Elden Ring, though, you’ll have to start pouring points in the right stats. You want to boost Strength and Dexerity more. This will ensure you can actually handle all those weapons. Next, don’t forget Vigor, as you need to take a hit since you’re going up close for battle. Meanwhile, you can raise other stats like Faith to their minimum.
Since you start out at such a high level, it does cost more to raise stats. So, you need to be careful about what you focus on. If you get a jack-of-all-trades character, you may struggle in the later battles.
You have a good choice of weapons, though. A great thing about the Confessor in Elden Ring is that you can play around with swords, knives, bows, and shields all while casting Incantations.
Consider weapons like Composite Bow, Black Bow, Rogier’s Rapier, Great Knife, Brass Shield, and One-Eyed Shield.
You also want Seals like God Slayer’s Seal to boost certain Incantaions.
On the topic of Incantations, consider the following: Lord’s Heal, Black Flame, and Ancient Dragon’s Lightning Spear.
Don’t forget your Ashes of War either to improve your weapons and adapt to changing circumstances.
And this is the key here: adaptability. There are enough tools to use, so you can adapt the Confessor to suit various bosses and missions as needed.
