Elgato came out with this little black box displaying 15 programmable buttons that seeks to make the lives of streamers much easier.
The Elgato Stream Deck plugs into the USB port on your computer and enables you to program up to 210 actions with these 15 buttons. This is a great tool for streamers who want to program actions to be a simple push of a button.
This is what it looks like right out of the box. The look of it, when not turned on, seems sleek yet basic. It’s a simple black box with buttons.
As you can see, it comes with a little stand to hold it and has a cord with a USB plug on the end of it. Again, at this point, it looks like a basic little black box with some buttons.
Once it is powered on, it shows a little more color and brightens up the display, in general. The customized backlit buttons allow you to make it your own.
Cost: This stream deck can be yours for the price of $149.95 on average.

The customizable buttons allow you to set them up to fit your need. This is a nice feature. The stream deck integrates with Elgato Game Capture, XSplit, OBS, Twitch, Twitter, TipeeeStream and more. Through the stream deck software, you can program these buttons to do so many things. For example, if you are streaming and need to change something in OBS it can become a challenge at times. However, with this stream deck, you simply program it to communicate with that particular function and it’s at your fingertips with the push of a button. You can also program the buttons to open programs or play a video, GIF or other animation. With one push of the button, you can even send a tweet! To be honest, you can program these buttons to do just about anything.
Verdict: As you can see, the features included with the Elgato Stream Deck make it a nice tool to have. It appears, at first, this would be mostly for streamers but this device can help others as well. The programming capabilities make it a nice tool for anyone who has a need for a quick-to-access set of hotkeys to be productive. It has endless capabilities for the streamer as you can program over 200 actions. It’s nice to have it already integrated with the popular streaming software and the process for programming is a simple drag and drop function. It is user-friendly and very easy to set up by simply plugging in the USB cable. Overall, I don’t see how anyone could go wrong with the Elgato Stream Deck.
