Elgato Wave: 3 Microphone
We are back with another Elgato product! The Elgato Wave: 3 USB microphone is one of the best microphones for streamers! But, are we really surprised? Elgato has taken over the world of streaming one product at a time!

What’s in the Box?
As you can see, included in the box is the microphone, stand, USB Cable, and an adapter that enables you to take the microphone off the stand and attach it to a standard mic stand or boom arm.
The installation is literally as easy as plug-and-play with the USB connection! You can use the Egalto Wave Link software to adjust the settings and customize it even more. The software increases the value of the product immensely!
The microphone is designed with a black matte finish and has controls on the front with lights to indicate some of the functions. The back of the microphone has a USB-C input and the 3.5mm headphone monitoring jack.
There is a sensor on the top of the microphone that enables you to quickly mute when needed. When you tap the sensor, an LED ring around the dial turns red showing you are muted.
The grill of the microphone is metal, while everything else seems to be made of plastic. Even so, it does not look or feel cheaply made.
The sound quality of this microphone is very clear! The Elgato Wave: 3 microphone’s quality is a result of a partnership with Lewitt, an Australian company, that designs some of the best microphones out there.
With the Cardioid polar pattern, it records the sounds from the front and sides and not the back, as much. With this pattern, the main sound you will pick up is the person speaking directly into it. If you were interviewing someone across from you, their voice would not pick up as well. For streamers and podcasters, this is no problem.
Elgato’s Wave Link software is used to control many of the functions of the microphone including mixing and routing audio sources in addition to the Wave:3. There are eight audio input channels and you have the ability to adjust the volume for each source while isolating what you want the stream to hear and what you want to hear in your ears only.
One of the great things about using more than one Elgato streaming product is the fact that they will most likely work together. The Elgato Wave: 3 will work with the Elgato Streaming Decks to make your streaming process even more effective.
On a normal day, you should be able to purchase this product for around $160. At the time of this writing, Amazon only had it available from other sellers at over $280! You can find it on eBay for over $250 and Best Buy and the Elgato website were both sold out! This is a hot item!
If you are a streamer or podcaster, this microphone is a great idea! Elgato has taken over the world of streaming and this microphone is another great option. And, if you use the stream deck by Elgato already, you will be able to add settings of the microphone to it to make your streaming process even better. The price is reasonable which is always a plus! Overall, I couldn’t see any real reason why this wouldn’t be a great choice when it comes to microphones.
