Famous television personality Ellen DeGeneres and her wife Portia de Rossi were spotted vacationing in Morocco following the end of The Ellen DeGeneres Show. New pictures showed the sweet couple walking around the souk and having lunch at Kabana Rooftop, Medina. They looked so good together and smiled as they enjoyed the beautiful views of the Moroccan city of Marrakech during the weekend.
Ellen is well-known for rocking buttoned-up blazers but looked casual in the vacation photos. The beloved show host wore khaki pants and a white linen shirt while her lovely wife, Portia, was clad in a blue and white striped dress, which she paired with a patterned scarf.
Ellen Says Goodbye To Her Famous Show
Ellen and Portia’s Moroccan vacation comes days after the former hosted the last episode of her eponymous talk show, The Ellen DeGeneres Show. The popular TV show has been airing since September 2003 but ended on Thursday, May 26, 2022, after airing for 19 seasons.

Ellen could not hold back her emotions as she walked onto her show’s set for the final time. However, she was not the only person struggling to keep their emotions in check as her friends and family held back tears. Portia also cried before Ellen started her monologue.
Ellen Reflects On Major Changes
Ellen began her last show by reflecting on how much the world has changed since her show started in 2003. She said,
“We couldn’t say ‘gay.’ I couldn’t say ‘we,’ because that implied that I was with someone,” Ellen noted. “I sure couldn’t say ‘wife,’ and that’s because it wasn’t legal for gay people to get married, and now I say ‘wife’ all the time.”
The 64-year-old also shared her last dance with DJ Stephen Boss (tWitch). The final guests on her show were her longtime friend and actress, Jennifer Aniston, and singers, Pink and Billie Eilish.
Ellen Expresses Her Gratitude
Ellen thanked her staff and the audience at the end of the show. She also left the audience with these beautiful words:
“If I’ve done anything in the past 19 years, I hope I’ve inspired you to be yourself. Your true, authentic self. And if someone is brave enough to tell you who they are, be brave enough to support them, even if you don’t understand. They’re showing you who they are, and that is the biggest gift anybody can ever give you.”
She urged them to be more compassionate by opening their hearts and minds because compassion makes the world a better place. Ellen concluded by thanking everyone for being on the journey with her, adding that she felt their love and was sending it back to them.
With The Ellen DeGeneres Show coming to an end, it feels like the end of an era, which showed in the beloved host’s emotions. However, although it was a bittersweet ending for her, she is undoubtedly ready for her life’s next chapter and has her lovely wife solidly behind her.
