There are new details on the roles of Olivia Colman and Emilia Clarke in the Marvel political thriller Secret Invasion. Colman was previously shown as a seedy MI6 agent and Clarke as G’iah in Secret Invasion. Clarke’s character is the daughter of the Skrull commander Talos (played by Ben Mendelsohn) in the 2019 film. The daughter is briefly shown in Captain Marvel. Both Colman’s character and Clarke’s character are involved in the Skrull’s involvement in reputable organizations and governments. They are, however, not on the same side. Even though the Skrulls just wanted a new home in Captain Marvel, this is an entirely new faction. It’s led by Gravik, played by Kingsley Ben-Adir. This new faction is bitter and wants changes sooner rather than later. Other familiar faces from the Marvel Cinematic Universe are returning for the Marvel political thriller like Nick Fury, Rhodey, Maria Hill, and Talos.
Olivia Colman and Emilia Clarke Join the Marvel Cinematic Universe for a Big Conflict
Carol Danvers promised the Skrulls that she’d help them find a new home, but patience has run out. Emilia Clarke’s character G’iah is not as optimistic about the human race as her father. Jackson described Colman’s character as “cold-blooded and relishes being that person”. Colman and Clarke will be fighting on different sides for the Marvel political thriller miniseries Secret Invasion. Samuel L. Jackson, who plays Nick Fury, says that he has learned a lot more about his character from this Marvel political thriller. Only scarce details have been shared about Secret Invasion, and Olivia Colman and Emilia Clarke’s characters are part of that. G’iah will be the complete opposite of her father Talos, but there are no details on how Rhodey or Maria Hill will deal with the rogue Skrulls. Captain Marvel was a big part of the Skrull’s lives, so will she just leave them hanging?
Secret Invasion premieres on Disney+ on June 21.
