James Cameron’s Wife: Meet Suzy Amis
James and Suzy first met while working on the movie Titanic, which James directed, and Suzy starred in as Lizzy Calvert. However, it took a few more years for them to start dating. James married Terminator actress Linda Hamilton in 1997, but they later divorced because there were rumors that he was already seeing someone else. About a year after James split from Linda, he tied the knot with Suzy. After getting married in 2000, the pair welcomed their three daughters.
Along with raising a family, the director and the former actress collaborated on several educational and environmental projects. Suzy, a former model, retired from acting in the 1990s to concentrate on their family. However, She still consistently stands beside her husband at Hollywood events. Most recently, on December 8, 2022, the couple was spotted at the London premiere of James’ much-awaited Avatar sequel.
James Cameron’s wife has stopped her career in acting and modeling but is still making waves as an environmental activist and author. Suzy now devotes most of her time to promoting environmental interests. She is the author of “The OMD Plan,” which promotes having one plant-based meal daily to benefit the environment and one’s health. Suzy also sits on the boards of other environmentalist groups, like LIVEKINDLY and IMAGINE. She is also a founding member of several organizations that promote plant-based diets and sustainability, including Verdient Foods, Cameron Family Farms, Food Forest Organics, and Plant Power Task Force.
The Oklahoma native and vegan married once before she became James Cameron’s wife. She was previously married to actor Sam Robards, a son of Jason Robards Jr. and Lauren Bacall. Sam and Suzy first connected while working on her debut film Fandango. The pair shared a son Jasper before their marriage ended in 1994.
Linda Hamilton
As mentioned earlier, James was once married to Linda Hamilton. James helmed Linda in The Terminator (1984) and Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991). James and Linda started living together after Terminator 2: Judgment Day. The pair welcomed their daughter, Josephine Archer Cameron, two years later, in 1993. James and Linda made their relationship official when they tied the knot in 1997. However, the marriage fell apart when James moved on with his current wife, Suzy. Linda did not leave the marriage empty-handed but walked away with a $50 million settlement. James and Linda’s split did not stop them from working together. In 2019, the ex-couple collaborated to create Terminator: Dark Fate. James continued to be the movie producer while Linda returned as Sarah Connor.
Kathryn Bigelow
As a renowned movie director, it is not strange that 61-year-old James was once married to a fellow movie director. Kathryn Bigelow was one of James Cameron’s wives from his previous marriages. James was married to the famed The Hurt Locker and Zero Dark Thirty director from 1989 through 1991. In 2010, she became the first woman to get an Academy Award for Best Director for her movie The Hurt Locker. She also faced off against her ex-husband, who was nominated for Best Picture in the same category. She defeated him in both.
James Cameron’s Wife And Collaborator: Gale Anne Hurd
It makes sense that James was also drawn to a successful and influential producer. Gale Anne Hurd served as producer, scriptwriter, and executive producer for The Terminator (1984) and 1991’s Terminator 2: Judgment Day. James and Gale were, however, briefly married from 1985 until 1989. She worked closely with him on many movies, including The Abyss and Aliens. After her split from James, Gale later married Mission: Impossible director Brian De Palma from 1991 to 1993. They shared a daughter Lolita de Palma who was born in 1991. Gale went on to marry again in 1995. She tied the knot with Jonathan Hensleigh, a screenwriter and director.
James Cameron’s First Wife: Sharon Williams
James Cameron was first married to Sharon Williams. The pair were married from 1978 to 1984. Although not much is known about Sharon and her marriage to James, it is important to note that it lasted six years. Hence, their marriage was three times longer than James’ union with Gale, Kathryn, and Linda, each of which lasted for only two years. Sharon was said to be an actress.
Although James Cameron has married five times, his last marriage with Suzy appears to be the best. The pair have been married for more than two decades and are still going strong.
