Everything We Know About The Batman 2: Release Date and More
The Batman 2 was originally confirmed during the CinemaCon 2022 by Warner Bros Pictures Group chairman Toby Emmerich as a direct follow up the 2022 film, with an unconfirmed release date.
The Batman 2 will be among James Gunn’s recently revealed rebooted slate for the DCEU, which includes several new projects. Among these is a new Superman film and another Batman adaptation.
The Batman 2 will once again be directed and written by Matt Reeves. All of the returning cast, including Robert Pattinson, Zoë Kravitz, and Collin Farrell are set to return.
Farrell is also slated to be a part of the upcoming Penguin HBO Max series for DC. The series is salted to release sometime in 2023 and will also be directed by Matt Reeves.
The plot of The Batman 2 is currently unknown as Reeves is currently in the process of writing the script, but the sequel will most likely follow up directly from where the original left off.
The Batman saw a young Bruce Wayne only with only two years of experience in crime fighting take on the Riddler, a dead serial killer played by Paul Dano who goes on a murdering spree for key political figures in Gotham to expose a conspiracy.
The conspiracy is not only tied up with the corruption within Gotham itself, but its ties with Wayne’s own family legacy. The Batman 2 is very likely to follow up from the climax of this conflict as well as prominently feature Barry Keoghan’s Joker, who was teased at the end of the film.
The Batman 2 will release on October 3, 2025.
